This picture is of my family’s stall. H J Warner in the old Hanley Market. It’s my grandad in the picture. I clearly remember the stall/Market even though I was really young. How would I get a copy of the picture….please…

  • Pics emailed to you – original size, so that they print well.

My dad was in the hanley general market. He would love these pics. Are there anymore anywhere. He had a double fruit and veg stall in the middle if the market.
    Thanks

I was very interested in your Hanley Market photos. Joan’s Flower Stall was my mother’s, the man on the photo on the stall is my father. The other flower stall with the woman sitting down was mine. I’m sure the man trimming vegetables is my uncle, but I never remember him with a pipe (I’ll ask my cousin). Photography has always been my main hobby, from when I was at school and designed the covers for the school magazines and did all the photos using a Pentax Spotmatic I bought in 1966 and paid for with two years of Saturday jobs, to today photographing with my Nikon D700 and correcting with the GIMP in Spain where I live and work. Really I’d have liked to be a fashion photographer, but I went to a 1960s boys’ school that only valued sciences, so I qualified as a doctor, not a good choice for me.
I have a lot of photos, both home-printed B&W and colour of the old market too, which I’m always going to digitalize, but still haven’t done!
Thanks for putting these photos on the web.
    All the best,
    Lawrence.
